Movie Marketing Budget in Kerala: How to Plan Your Spend
By MadWeb Digital Solutions · 2026-11-05
There is no single right number for a film marketing budget. It depends on the film, the cast and the release scale. What you can plan is how to split whatever you have.
Three phases
- Pre-release: teasers, poster reveals, reels and creator posts to build interest.
- Trailer and songs: video views and reach on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.
- Release week: ticket-sales ads, BookMyShow promotion and city-wise targeting.
An example split (not a rule)
As a starting idea, many campaigns keep about a fifth of the budget for the pre-release phase, about a third for the trailer and song phase, and the rest for release week, because ticket decisions happen late. Change the split to suit your film.
What to keep aside
Keep a small reserve, about one tenth, to boost whatever content performs best. You will not know which reel or ad works until you test.
Online and offline
If you also use theatre ads, print or train wrapping, decide that budget first, because those need booking time.
What to ask any agency
- What will you do each week, and what will I see?
- How do you report results?
- Do you use any fake followers, views or reviews? The answer must be no.
