How to Write a Film Press Note That Gets Published
By MadWeb Digital Solutions · 2026-11-06
Journalists get many press notes a day. A clear, short note is more likely to be used.
Structure
- Headline: what is new, in one line (title reveal, trailer, song, release date).
- First paragraph: who, what, when, where.
- Details: cast, crew, story hint, release plan.
- Quote: one line from the director or lead actor.
- Contact and links: press kit, trailer, poster.
Tips
- Keep it under 300 words.
- Send images as a link, not many attachments.
- Send to the right writers, not a mass list.
